1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? Our commercial challenged conventions by exaggerating them throughout the video. Things such as theme, characters, plotlines, and mood are all used to help make a fun and family friendly atmosphered music video. For example, including clips of us on the swings and playing uno at different points of the day gave the music video a more homemade vlog vibe, which is what a lot of families like to do. My video helps to talk mostly to kids and families.   2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? My product engages with the audience by doing things they've all done at one point, have fun. This is shown by Eric putting words on the screen in the beginning and us running around and playing. Things such as youtube and tv would be perfect for people to view our video on. Before and after shows and videos.  3. How did your ...

Music Video

We could've done a lot of things differently during our process. Maybe if we did the project would've came out 10x better. I think in total we spent 4 or 5 days, but we didn't come out with the commercial we expected. We didn't prioritized it and put enough effort in. I could've taken more shots outside and factored the bipolar weather into our shooting schedule, but I think we just got off tasks with our other assignments. We should've been more understanding towards our differences in opinions. This is probably what put us in such a tight schedule in the first place. I also should've done more research on camera angles and how to better show these angles with my phone. It was harder to keep the phone straight and properly show the correct angles while filming moving objects. Especially because most of our shots were of us moving around around. For future projects I might have to invest in a tripod to make filming easier. We also should've taken into a...

filming blog for Music Video

Talking about our film was our main priority when the film date came out. Our ideas were different and we especially had different ways of having a successful film day. When we first arrived at the park we discussed a lot of things surrounding how we wanted to successfully record our video. We made sure we were all on the same page and happy with the plan. This made sure we wouldn't end up arguing and wasting time. I ended up deciding to just try and record everything we did so we wouldn't miss anything. We all at one point shot something though, so each of us could be in the video at one point. This worked in our favor since we did get a lot of different clips and angles throughout the day. By angling my phone and using different affects I was able to successfully capture almost everything we did that morning. I made sure my phone was fully charged and I put on a protective case incase it fell or broke at any time. To make sure we were safe while recording I brought wipes and ...

editing blog for Music Video

Editing my blog was really difficult for me, and probably the hardest part of my whole commercial. To edit my whole film I used the editing app iMovie.  The song I chose was an upbeat one that slightly dramatized my whole music video. After that I struggled uploading my audio to my actual commercial. I didn't know how to add my own sound to my editing app. It sucked even more because I did it for my dog commercial video and just forgot how. So to keep this from happening again I left myself a note on how to add the music for future reference. After struggling for awhile I ended up asking one of my teammates for help. Thankfully one of them took it off my hands and helped input the music. That was probably the hardest part of the whole editing process to me. I wanted to try and do this myself so I could carry my own weight on my team, but thankfully I made up for it In other areas, and they completely understood that editing wasn't my strong suit. So instead Eric decided to ta...
