1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? My commercial challenged conventions by exaggerating them throughout the video. Things such as theme, characters, plotlines, and mood are all used to help make a fun and family friendly atmosphere commercial. For example, including clips of my dog at the different points of the day gave the commercial a more home vlog vibe, which is what a lot of families like to do. My video helps to talk mostly animal lovers and families. It also addresses issues about finding the perfect dog collar, one that won't irritate her or other animals.

 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? My product engages with the audience by talking directly to them throughout the entire video. This is shown by me putting words on the screen each time a new clip started. And using words such as “your” so the person knows I'm talking directly to them. Things such as youtube and tv would be perfect for for people to view my commercial for. Before and after shows and videos.

3.     How did your production skills develop throughout this project? Throughout the production process I feel as if I’ve grown a lot in little time. In the beginning of our production I had to find a way to film in an unconventional way, since the pandemic restricted everything. Doing everything on a phone was very difficult and furthermore I learned about lightning. It was one of the first things I learned how to do to have a successful video. I also learned about the sensitivity of sound, a perfect example of this is when my dog walked and you could hear her paws on the wood. I ended up having to mute the videos completely and overlap background music so the commercial wouldn't be completely silent.

4.     How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project? For my commercial I used the more modern pieces of technology to produce and edit my final product. To actually shoot the project i used my phone, only because i didn’t have a tripod or any other filming device. I have to say though that the editing process did seem pretty easy because it was on my phone. After I shot my video I used iMovie to crop and add sound effects to the video so it would be more like a commercial, and Google docs also helped up write down my scrambled thoughts  and keep track of everything I was doing.
